JOHAN CALITZ HUNTING SAFARIS has the exclusive rights to what is undoubtedly some of Africa's last wild frontiers. Botswana is a multi-party, politically stable democracy and it is within these boundaries that we have been conducting most of our Southern African hunting safaris over the past two and a half decades. We are privileged to be entrusted with the management of vast Government and Community hunting concessions in the Okavango Delta and Chobe eco-systems of northern Botswana, covering over 10,000 square kilometers of the parched Kalahari. This vast land encompasses a wide variety of diverse habitats, which are home to the greatest concentration of game in the entire Southern African continent and the largest herds of elephant anywhere in the world. Since 2003, Calitz safaris elephant trophies' consistently featured between two and three of the five biggest elephant taken in Botswana annually, with the biggest weighing in at 104lbs. Johan Calitz Hunting Safaris is currently the largest elephant hunting outfitter in Africa We also offer custom-made safaris in the Niassa National Reserve in northern Mozambique. Lion, Leopard, hippo, crocodile and many sought-after species, such as Rooseveldt Sable, Reedbuck, Bushbuck and Lichtenstein Hartebeest is also on offer in this vast and awesomely beautiful wilderness area. The Niassa reserve and its hunting partners won the Markor Award for the most outstanding conservation effort in Africa in 2008 - something we are all proud of in the reserve. Our hand picked, well trained and dedicated staff and professional hunters are eager to welcome and be of service to discerning hunters from all over the globe.
